FLE (French as a Foreign Language)
The IPLME welcomes all students wishing to begin or continue their French learning. These courses give students an opportunity to acquire or deepen the linguistic knowledge that is essential to follow any training and activities in France or in a French-speaking country. The teaching method adopted is the communicative approach which allows French learners to learn to communicate in a given situation.
Class size is limited (15 students on average per class). All aspects of the language are worked on: oral and written comprehension, oral and written production, grammar and socioculture.
Our goals
Proposed levels
Six skill levels have been defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. At school, we teach French from level A1 to level C1. In France, the B2 level is required to be able to register at university.
The levels defined by the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
For each level, you will find brochures at the reception which precisely describe the content and the objectives pursued. You will also find practical information (websites, bookshops, etc.)
Our program
Our course program combines oral and written skills, socio-cultural and pragmatic aspects of learning French. Each week is an opportunity to take a transversal approach to the language and to work on various aspects including:
THE DELF and the TCF
Our courses also allow you to prepare for official certifications such as DELF or TCF.
DELF and TCF are official certifications to validate your language level. If you obtain level B2, you can claim university education or enroll in a higher education institution in France.
You can get used to these exams by taking mock DELF tests as part of our courses (unofficial DELF exam). If demand is strong, we can also open a specific preparation module for these exams.
