HOLI is a popular ancient Hindu festival, also known as the Festival of Spring, the Festival of Colors or the Festival of Love. It originated and is predominantly celebrated in the Indian subcontinent but has also spread to other regions of Asia and parts of the Western world through the South Asian diaspora. It is back at the Jardin d'Acclimatation this Sunday May 22, 2022. This is the incredible event not to be missed.
HOLI, is one of the biggest traditional festivals in India, probably the most popular, the most joyful and the most colorful! To celebrate the end of winter and the first days of spring, millions of women and men sprinkle colored powders, have fun, sing and dance to traditional music.
If you're not afraid of getting some color, if you're in the mood for good humor and festive entertainment, this is an event that you shouldn't miss this spring.
There are more than 200 artists and dancers who are planned for this event. On a large open-air stage on the Green Mirror, from 12:00 to 18:00, there will be performances by traditional and modern troupes from Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Punjab and Rajasthan: Barathynathyam dances in honor of Ganesh, Bolly Kathak dance from the north of India, Bollywood dance, inspired by the love films of Indian cinema, Daandiya dance, from Gujarat with colored bamboo sticks, Dholl Damakha with drums and music from Punjab.
